České Budějovice is the capital and also the largest city in the South Bohemian Region. It is located on the confluence of Vltava and Malše rivers. Nearby České Budějovice (half an hour by bus) is a famous historical city Český Krumlov, which is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
City of Olomouc is situated in the east of the Czech Republic on the rivers Morava and Bystřice. It is more than a thousand years old, with about 100,000 inhabitants it is currently the sixth largest city in the Czech Republic. It has been an important centre during different historical periods, nowadays Olomouc is an important industrial town, transport crossroads and centre of education. By the Lonely Planet it has been listed as one of the Europe´s hidden treasures. It deserves the label „university city“, as there are more than 24,000 students living there during the academic year.
Hradec Králové is a truly student city, with 100 thousands inhabitants and three active universities. It is located east of Prague (1 hour by bus) on the confluence of Labe and Orlice rivers. With great historical centre and beautiful surrounding nature it is considered as one of the most beautiful cities of the Czech Republic.
