    • Topic: The student (trainee) will participate on a research of the Department of Marketing, Trade and Services (Faculty of Economics, University of West Bohemia), which deals with use of modern technology used especially in marketing in the fields of tourism and retail. The research is aimed on both the supply (tourism enterprises, retailers) and the demand (tourists, customers) part of the market. The student (trainee) will receive a partial task to work on during the stay. We will try to use student´s (trainee´s) knowledge of South American tourism and retail market.
    • Requirements: The student (trainee) should have general interest in the presented topic of research, ability to work with scientific articles and other resources, basic knowledge of marketing and general interest in modern technology and tourism/retail.

    • Topic: The student will participate on research activities of the department of geography, that is mainly focused on the research of borderland dynamics on Czech and German border, small towns and their role in modern society, environmental sustainability and globalization topics. A trainee will help with searching and elaborating international data, creating databases and looking for international literature. We will try to use trainee’s knowledge about same topics mentioned above from their own region of South America (especially Brazil).
    • Requirements: The student should have general interest and passion for scientific research and be a team player. We expect him/her to have some geographical knowledge and interets in topics mentioned above, we welcome if s/he can work with GIS (but not an ultimate condition). Fluent English is a must (reading, writing, speaking).

    • Information: The research project will mean to simulate and consequently calculate congestion cost in chosen urban area. Data mining from observing real traffic flow. The students will monitor chosen urban area, crossroad, parts of towns. They will analyze collected data for further statistical and economic analysis. The results will be used for calculating traffic flow improvements, traffic solutions, for traffic accidents decrease and generally for policy makers. The students will be required to have basic economics knowledge, externalities, MS Office programing. The students should be able communicate, use basic statistical instruments and tools.

    • Task: To analyze localities and stores of precious metala. Possibilities of their processing, which are the most suitable for transport and possibilities of their use.
    • Information: Industrial mining of precious metals has been running systematically since 16 century, but South America still disposes of big reserves. These reserves are so big that in some cases they can influence the price of commodities on the market when being mined intensely. The aim of the project is to describe all localities and stores and to analyse the use in particular industrial branches.
  • Investment Possibilities of South American precious metals with the orientation to their mining, processing, distribution or recycling - USB Ceske Budejovice

    • Task: To analyze the ways of mining and processing of precious metals. Possibilities of industrial and investment use.
    • Information: Precious metals can serve not only as a raw material for production of certain products, but at the same time as a store of value of money. The ratios between industrial processing and their storage as a trore of value can influence their final price. The aim of the project is to describe their mining, processing as a commodity for industry and as a store of value of money. Partial aim is to analyse their recycling and possibilities of return using.
  • Prognosis of Economic and Social Development in the Context of Industry 4.0 - USB Ceske Budejovice

    • Task: Include empirical statistical data for the macroeconomic variables in the social development forecast
    • Information: It is a research project that builds on an interdisciplinary approach to socio-economic reality - it moves on the boundaries of standard economic theory, sociology, futurology and science methodology. The axis of the project is to highlight the importance of the basic economic paradigm or individualistic rationality of the economic person, including the critical appreciation and suggestion of finding new foundations of scientific research of economic science for the 21st century. The project further elaborates on the problems of the relations of development models and technological changes, respectively technical revolutions on the one hand and at the same time highlights the growing role of the subjective factor in qualitatively new - globalized - from the beginning of the new millennium on the other. The specific program and timetable of the project may be adapted to the knowledge and interest of students, and other topics can be included in the project (application of human capital theory in the context of Industry 4.0, relation between innovation and social exclusion in the context of Industry 4.0 etc.)
